The hottest Instagram spots in Israel

In recent years Instagram has become a major part of our daily lives: we share our every move with our followers, especially when we travel. We all want the most unique picture of the places we visit. Many of us (including me) take this very seriously and plan in advance what they will be wearing, at what time they can catch the best light and when the venues will be least crowded. During the Corona time, when most sites were close to empty, we took the opportunity to travel throughout the Holy Land to check out the most mesmerizing spots in the country. Here are our top 10 instagrammable places for your next trip to Israel:

The Pool of Arches in Ramla

This relic from the time of the caliphs is incredibly well preserved. Built some 1200 years ago this underground water reservoir of about 20x20 meters, can be visited with little boats and offers a fairylike atmosphere.

The Design Museum in Holon

Just 20 mins from Tel Aviv you will find one of the world leading Museums for Design. The collection itself is really exciting but what stands out is the building itself, designed by the famous Israeli architect Ron Arad. The big bold bronze curvy lines are a great setting for a series of grandiloquent pictures.

The Aqueduct in Caesarea

One of our favorite spots along the northern coastline, only 45 minutes from Tel Aviv, is the Roman Port City of Caesarea. Named by Travel & Leisure “Best Tourist Spot in the Middle East 2020”, the combination of the golden beaches and the Ancient Roman Aqueduct does it all. The perfect picture is almost guaranteed, especially if you come an hour before sunset.

The Church of the Holy Sepulcher

The Holiest site of Christianity in the center of the Old city of Jerusalem holds some magnetism that goes beyond the religious aspect. As you stand under the dome and the light hits through the glass ceiling, all you have to do is to hit the button and the picture has a no failure guarantee.

The Dead Sea

Just a little south from the Ein Bokek resorts you will find this magical spot with a dozen salt islands in the middle of the clearblue waters, a few meters from the shore. The picture is close to a vision from paradise, but be aware that you have to earn it: the salt-soil feels like sharp rock and you can easily get injured. Wear sandals to reach the Islands, sunscreen is a must and take protective waterproof gear for your camera.

Kibbutz Neot Semadar

This Kibbutz in the South of the Negev desert could get you thinking you actually landed at Disneyland. The unique architecture is not only esthetic it is also functional, as its central tower and mud-covered bricks act as a natural cooling system. The cherry on the cake: after your photo session, you can enjoy their organic wines and homemade goat milk cheeses!

Gan Hashlosha

Gan Hashlosha or the Sachne (Arabic for the hot pool) is rumored to be nothing less than the real Garden of Eden. The spring water that feeds the Amal Stream/pools comes at a year-round temperature of 28℃, which makes it quite a hotspot for both locals and tourists. It was even named by Time Magazine as one of the most beautiful parks in the world.

Timna Park

If you want an Arizona feeling desert with a Middle Eastern twist, head to this red rose national park slightly above the Southern tip of Israel. Picturesque highlights include Solomon’s Pillars, the Mushroom, the Arches and the Lake.

The Hanging Bridge

Nestled in the middle of the Nesher National Parc, close to Haifa,  you will find 2 slightly swinging 70m long bridges, offering an amazing view over the Carmel mountains and a very “jungly” picture.

Ein Kerem

This neighborhood southwest of Jerusalem has a very chill “village in the mountains” vibe. It’s a perfect combination of cute little streets, blooming flora and beautiful churches - including the famous Russian Orthodox Monastery with the shiny golden domes overlooking the valley.
